The Mervyn Stone Mysteries
Nev has written three novels that are currently out in hardback, and will be released in paperback in April. 'The Mervyn Stone Mysteries' are comedy crime thrillers concerning the ex-writer of a long-dead science-fiction TV programme.
'Vixens from the Void' was a show as sharp, sexy, dangerous and as typically 80s as the contents of Madonna's old knicker draw. Mervyn Stone was its script editor, and his life is mostly composed of telling anecdotes about 'Vixens', signing stuff with the 'Vixens' logo on it, and talking about 'Vixens' on DVD documentaries and sneery Channel 4 shows.
The funny thing is, he always seems to be blundering across murders wherever he goes, and Mervyn, with his script editor's knack for spotting plot-holes, seems the best person to solve them...
Book one, 'Geek Tragedy' is set at 'ConVix 15', a science-fiction convention where the old monster props seem to be killing all the attendees...
Book two, 'DVD Extras Include: Murder' concerns an impossible poisoning that takes place during the recording of a DVD commentary...
Book three, 'Cursed Among Sequels', takes place during an ill-fated big budget revival of 'Vixens from the Void', made in Cornwall, where a mysterious someone is trying very hard to kill Mervyn...

Mervyn Stone News:
- 3rd September: Nev will be at the Whooverville convention in Derby, signing and talking about his books.
- 18th September: Tom and Nev will be appearing at Chiswick book festival discussing their work on a Private Eye panel. Nev will also be talking about his Mervyn Stone books.
- 22th October: Nev will be appearing at the Guildford literary festival discussing crime fiction with Simon Brett and Sam Leith.
- 11-13th November: Nev will be at Armadacon in Plymouth talking about and signing his Mervyn Stone Books.

Other News:
- Tom and Nev will be signing the Private Eye Annual with the rest of the team, in Selfridges (Oxford Street) on the 7th December 1-2pm.
- A series developed with Tom and Nev is currently being made into a pilot by Disney.
- Nev's Companion Chronicle, called 'Peri and the Piscon Paradox', is to be released in January. It can be pre-ordered from here.
- The 'Time and the Rani' DVD is released in september. It includes the documentary 'Last Chance Saloon', which was written by Nev.
- The Mervyn Stone mini-adventure podcast, 'Whatever Happened to Babel J?' will be broadcast from the Big Finish site in September.

- 'The Impression Show' is returning for a second series, provisionally scheduled for autumn 2010.
- 'Scoop' series two is to begin broadcasting in September.
