This was a non-topical show.

No days at Pinewood were booked for both this and the xmas special. All studio-based sketches were done on the one recording day in BBC tv centre.

‘The Greg Dyke/ Last Animal Hospital ' and ‘Claire Short joining Radiohead' were both originally radio sketches broadcast earlier that year. The ‘Restoration siege' was originally recorded for the radio, but didn't work as well as hoped, so wasn't used. It was re-written for this show.

The animation for the South Park show was done by, Kate Sullivan who also did the ‘Charlie the Cat says don't play with matches' sketch for series two.

Elvis Costello coming into the chemists shop was completely unscripted!
